Recycling Guide
Electrical Cords & Cables!
Illegal in Garbage & Drains
Cables and cords contain chemicals and components that can leach into local waterways, soil, and air. Cords and cables can also get stuck in sorting equipment and injure sanitation workers. Contain your cords and cables with a bag, coil, or tie to keep them from unraveling through sorting equipment. Never put these in the trash or recycling.
Special Directions
Electrical cords and cables can be taken to Eastern Regional Landfill during normal business hours for a fee. From there, they will be sent to a recycling facility, disassembled, and recycled into new products.
