Wax paper is often confused with parchment paper. Their difference being the coating. Wax paper is covered in wax, therefore it cannot be recycled.
Can you compost parchment paper?
It is not recommended to use parchment paper as compost due to the lining of it.

You can re-use parchment paper when baking things such as cookies. It won't work well for most other things, but it is fantastic for re-using with cookies.
