The Town of Truckee introduced two new multi-modal transit programs in 2022 and 2023, TART Connect and the BCycle e-bike share program. Each have been extremely well-received by the community, seen by great usership numbers!
The BCycle e-bike share program launched at the end of June 2023 and operated through the end of October. The first phase of the program included 50 pedal-assist electric bikes and 13 bike rack stations across town. In just four months, users took over 3,165 rides and covered over 20,000 miles! Using these bikes as an alternative means of transportation helped keep nearly 20,000 pounds of harmful CO2 emissions out of our beautiful Truckee air. Meanwhile, TART Connect, an on-demand FREE microtransit service in Truckee launched with summer and winter pilots in 2022. The pilot programs exceeded expectations, carrying nearly 80,000 passengers during the seasonal pilot operations. Now, Town Council has approved an extension of service through June 30, 2024! During 2023, the program served 125,582 passengers in the first 365 days of service, which is more than 4 full years of historical ridership on the Truckee TART system! Thank you to everyone who has embraced this wonderful addition to our public transportation system.

The Winter Transit schedule will begin December 14th, giving you access to the scheduled fixed route bus from 6:30am to 6:30pm, and free, on-demand rides with TART Connect from 6 am to midnight, every day! Use TART Connect to get to work, school, sporting events, a night out on the Town, and even to the ski resorts. Book a ride from your house to the bus stop, hop on the TART bus, and enjoy a relaxing ride without the hassle of driving in traffic or finding a spot to park.
