2025 Bike Month Recap

June was buzzing with spokes and smiles as the Town of Truckee celebrated its 2nd Annual Bike Month, bringing together neighbors, students, families, and local businesses for a fun, sustainable celebration on two wheels.
This year’s celebration was bigger and better, with over 200 community members participating across a full calendar of events. From the ever-popular Bike to School Day, to Bike-Themed Trivia at Alibi, and the festive Bike Everywhere Day, the energy was electric and the impact undeniable.
A standout was the Bike Month Bingo Challenge, with 32 participants (some as young as 1st grade!) completing rides that replaced car trips, explored new trails, and connected with friends. Some are already aiming for a blackout next year!
Thanks to generous local sponsors like Alibi, Dark Horse, Bike Truckee, and RMU, participants scored water bottles, seat covers, and raffle prizes valued at $100 each. Their support helped keep the energy high all month long.
Bike Month isn’t just a celebration, it’s a growing movement for sustainability, health, and connection in Truckee. Thank you to everyone who rode, volunteered, and made it a success!
Keep Biking Throughout the Summer
Take advantage of our incredible paved biking trails across Truckee including a new expansion on the Legacy Trail by the Riverview Sports Park. Work began on July 11 and is expected to continue through mid-September. This project will add a new 10-foot-wide, 1,200-foot-long Class 1 trail, linking the Legacy Trail to the Joerger Ranch Trail on the east side of Riverview Sports Park. Truckee BCycle Program

The BCycle program in Truckee is a town-wide pedal assist electric bike share program served by a variety of conveniently located docking stations or “mobility hubs” where locals, visitors, and commuters can rent bikes to meet their daily travel needs. This program is intended to support community goals focused on promoting environmentally sustainable transportation options that improve mobility, enhancing resident quality of life and visitor experience, and supporting economic vitality while reducing impacts on our natural environment.
