Truckee Fire Pick Up

Truckee Fire District will support your defensible space work by offering disposal options for most defensible space vegetation*, FREE of charge, from May-October.*

*Due to the early snowmelt, Truckee Fire Protection District has moved up the start of its residential yard waste curbside pickup program for 2026. Truckee Fire will begin accepting requests to pick up yard waste piles starting March 30, and pick-up services will begin in mid-April.

Vegetation must be moved to the area in front of your property just off the edge of the roadway (i.e Curbside).

Eligible material for pick-up and haul away:

Woody biomass: shrubs, tree limbs, trees up to 8 inches diameter, either green or recently dead.
