Reduce, reuse, recycle is the mantra. That means looking for reuse opportunities should come before tossing any items in the trash or recycling! A lot of energy and resources go into producing our products, whether it be clothing, electronics, or food. Using them up as long as possible preserves those resources from going to waste. Donating and buying used products is one of the best ways to reduce your environmental footprint.
Below are some spots for donating items locally. You can also consider buying or selling items at a garage sale or giving items to neighbors, friends, or family members before tossing something out. Truckee Tahoe People Facebook Page is another great resource for buying, selling, or donating items to local community members.
