Legacy Trail Brockway Road Connection

The Legacy Trail-Brockway Road Multi Use Trail Connection project consists of construction of a 10 foot wide multi-use trail and sidewalk along the south side of Brockway Road between Palisades Drive and the Truckee River Bridge. The Town received a $630,000 Local Partnership Program (LPP) grant for this project. Construction is planned for summer of 2021 and the trail is expected to open in fall of 2021, providing an alternative transportation connection to Downtown Truckee that does not currently exist.

Sustainability Benefits

This trail connection will extend an alternative transportation route to provide Truckee residents and visitors the opportunity to get out of their cars and increase GHG reductions. This is a missing link that provides an essential pedestrian connection between existing Class 1 Trails to Downtown Truckee. This connection in particular connects residential neighborhoods along the Legacy Trail and Brockway Road to goods and services available in the downtown corridor.
