Transit Ridership

Since July 1st, 2018, Tahoe Truckee Area Regional Transit (TART) and the Town of Truckee have provided free bus rides on all fixed routes operating throughout Truckee. After the first year of these free fares, bus ridership increased 114%.

What you can do: Try out the Town’s free buses and shuttles year round. Commuting to work, running an errand, or heading to the ski resort? Try taking a convenient and free TART bus instead of driving your car. 

This information tracks the number of one way rides for TART fixed route, dial-a-ride, and shuttle public transportation services.

As our investment in public transportation increases annually and Town Planning promotes developments that utilize public transportation, it will be important to measure how those dollars and efforts foster usage.

This information is tracked and reported by Truckee’s transit provider, Tahoe Truckee Area Regional Transit (TART).
