The Town critically evaluates opportunities for solar energy production on its sites and works closely with Truckee Donner Public Utility District to determine energy savings.
In 2012 the Town installed a 14,500 kW photovoltaic system at the new public service center facility. In 2018 and 2019 solar streetlights were installed as part of the Brockway Road Corridor Improvement and the Stockrest Springs Road Roundabout projects.
This information tracks the amount of energy being produced by the Town’s existing renewable energy systems.
Production of renewable energy reduces the needed production of energy from fossil fuel sources.
This information is collected by the Town’s solar array monitoring system and updated annually.
