Several recent community housing projects have excellent public transportation access. These include the completed 138 Coburn Crossing Apartments, which are market rate and restricted to residents that work within the school district boundary.  Under construction, set to open in 2021 are two low-income rental communities – Frishman Hollow II which will provide 68 homes and the Truckee Artists’ Lofts which will create 77 new homes in downtown Truckee.

Expanding access to public transit is an important part of Truckee’s strategy to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and roadway congestion from single occupancy vehicles. Locating housing units within a short walk of a transit stop helps ensure that transit is a convenient option.

Housing proximity to transit is calculated using Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping data.
